  • From Product to Process: How Account Executive Dan Ryan Shapes Exceptional Client ExperiencesFrom Product to Process: How Account Executive Dan Ryan Shapes Exceptional Client Experiences

With over 30 years in the industry, Henricksen Account Executive Dan Ryan combines curiosity, collaboration, and technology to create exceptional client experiences and lasting partnerships. News + Insights From Product to Process: How Account Executive Dan Ryan Shapes Exceptional Client Experiences With over 30 years in the industry, Henricksen Account Executive Dan Ryan combines curiosity, collaboration, and technology to create exceptional client experiences and lasting partnerships. Nov 10, 2025 For Account Executive Dan Ryan, every great space begins with a great partnership. Dan attended St. John’s University in Minnesota, graduating in 1993 before spending a year in Ireland as a volunteer teacher and basketball coach. When he returned home, he took a temporary position working for the CFO at Metro Furniture, a dealership later acquired by Henricksen. That role opened the door to a career spanning more than 30 years in the contract furniture industry. Dan’s career has been built on curiosity and collaboration. Over the years, he’s seen the industry evolve dramatically. “Furniture today is far more dynamic and detailed,” he shares. “Design has moved front and center, and our partnerships with design firms and project managers have become much more integrated. We now bring a higher level of detail to every aspect of project execution.” Dan thrives on helping clients navigate every stage of a project, from initial vision to final installation. He understands that success depends on aligning with general contractors, architects, owners’ reps, and design teams to deliver complete solutions. Staying current with evolving design and construction practices has always been a priority for Dan. A self-taught CET user, he leverages the software as a communication tool, using 3D models to help clients visualize and understand their spaces during every phase of a project. He also trained himself in AutoCAD and other specification tools to streamline collaboration between design teams and clients. “Technology can either connect you or create distance,” he says. “My goal is to make it strengthen how we work together.” As his role has evolved, Dan emphasizes the importance of teamwork — recognizing the contributions of project coordinators, designers, project managers, and installers alike. With so many stakeholders involved, he believes every individual should feel valued and connected to the project’s success. When asked what sets Henricksen apart, Dan doesn’t hesitate: it’s the clients and the team’s ability to understand what makes each organization unique. “Every client’s journey is different,” he explains. “Our role is to be their advisor — to help them discover what makes their space special. All dealerships sell similar products, but Henricksen’s people make clients the heroes of their own journey.” That approach has guided Dan in building long-term relationships with clients ranging from small businesses to major organizations such as Ecolab and Xcel Energy. After three decades in the industry, Dan continues to be guided by the principles that first drew him to Henricksen: curiosity, collaboration, and a genuine appreciation for the people who make every project successful. • Focus Financial Partners

Focus Financial Partners partnered with Ted Moudis Associates and Henricksen to design and furnish their new office space, including open workstations, private offices, huddle rooms, and more. Project Experience Focus Financial Partners New York, NY Project Stats Completed 2019 Location New York, NY Square Footage 29,700 Partners & Manufacturers 24/7 Contracting, TMA, Icon Construction Manufacturers Used Focus Financial Partners wanted to construct a new office space they could customize to meet their needs and furnish to promote their multi-faceted culture. They needed it to be flexible and easily adaptive to the future growth of the company. “It was important that it fully supported and accommodated our increasingly expanding company with more than adequate office space, while also providing a high-tech workspace that encouraged interaction and stimulated creativity,” said Queen Kamani, Executive Assistant to Ruediger Adolf, the Founder and CEO of Focus Financial Partners. Focus Financial Partners worked with the architectural firm Ted Moudis Associates to design the new space. Once the overall layout was finalized, Henricksen was brought into the process for the furniture planning and selection. Several common areas, hoteling spaces, and individual private offices needed to be furnished. Focus wanted to re-use several existing furnishings in the new design, including some workstations and conference tables. Henricksen met with Ted Moudis Associates and Focus Financial Partners to review the architectural plans before presenting several furniture layouts and product selections. They also invited Focus to see some of the proposed furniture options at local showrooms and offices of other clients. Reflecting on the proceess Kamani shares, “Henricksen worked closely with our architects, contractors and project managers throughout the process, attending weekly meetings and participating on various conference calls. Once we finalized our furniture selections, Henricksen ordered, tracked and ensured the arrival and installation of all furniture to the specification of the architectural plan.” Henricksen also facilitated the re-use of an old conference table by stripping and refinishing it to match the new designs. This enabled Focus Financial Partners to retain a beautiful piece of furniture and make it fit the look and feel of their new space. Henricksen was able to blend existing and new furniture to furnish an open, airy office space that met the client’s vision. In addition to workstations and private offices, their new office now has huddle rooms, a game room, and a beautiful café kitchen. “In unification with the open indoor outdoor and hoteling floor plan concept design, comprising of wall plant greenery, glass partitions and doors throughout the space…,” said Kamani; “The selected furniture was perfectly in line with the overall floor design with its array of textures and colors, dimensions and style.” The furniture in the new space encourages collaboration with open workstations, seating and lounge areas, café-style booths, and conference room tables that can easily be connected and disconnected, rearranged and stored away. The fabrics and finishes blend into the office design by pulling out the blues, greens and golds of the company’s logo. • Yoga Alliance

Yoga Alliance's new headquarters integrates wellness and flexibility in design, offering diverse spaces for collaboration, focus work, and yoga, reflecting their culture and mission. Project Experience Yoga Alliance Arlington, VA Project Stats Completed 2022 Location Arlington, VA Square Footage Partners & Manufacturers A R K T X, Systems Connection, Allsteel, Gunlocke, HBF Manufacturers Used With their lease ending, Yoga Alliance aimed to transition into a workspace that embraced post-COVID, hybrid working styles, while also incorporating wellness-focused design elements. Moving towards a hybrid work model eliminated the need for assigned workstations, creating demand for a variety of environments to accommodate focus work, collaboration, and community activities. Yoga Alliance opted for entirely new furniture, creating an opportunity to design a cohesive aesthetic that mirrored the organization’s mission and brand. “We wanted the furniture to convey the fluid and cozy nature of the built space,” said Sarah Ballard, A R K T X, “And be a reflection of the culture of Yoga Alliance.” Henricksen partnered closely with the architectural team (A R K T X) to ensure the furniture aligned seamlessly with the built environment. The design and furniture selections emphasized flexibility and supported multi-use spaces, such as converting the pantry/lounge area into a yoga studio and rearranging workstations for team collaboration. Variety was also key for the client, with a mix of formal and informal settings that included private offices, huddle rooms, a library, and open work areas. Henricksen crafted customized solutions to align with Yoga Alliance's vision, blending functionality with flexibility. The pantry and lounge areas feature lightweight, modular furniture like Allsteel Rise tiered lounge seating and island tables on casters. These versatile pieces make it effortless to transition the space for energizing yoga sessions or social gatherings, ensuring it adapts seamlessly to any need. The open workstations featured Beam-style sit/stand desks that could be grouped together for teamwork or separated for privacy. Privacy dividers were incorporated to create individual workstations without losing the sense of openness. In the quiet library area, high-back lounge chairs provided ideal spaces for focus work, while modular shelving divided the area from more populated parts of the office. For the private offices, Henricksen offered a combination of traditional desk setups and lounge-inspired arrangements with swivel chairs and laptop tables to emulate a work-from-home feel. These thoughtful choices ensured that every part of the office aligned with Yoga Alliance’s vision of flexibility and wellness. Henricksen’s collaborative approach was a cornerstone of the project’s success. The team hosted joint architectural and furniture design meetings in their experience center, which fostered a cohesive design vision and ensured seamless integration between architecture and furniture. When initial proposals exceeded the budget, Henricksen provided alternative solutions that maintained the desired aesthetic and functionality while holding to the budget. The dedicated Henricksen team managed delivery and installation, working proactively to align with the construction schedule and address potential punch list items before they arose. “Working with Henricksen was great,” said Ballard. “Because of their hospitality, we were able to hold architectural design meetings at the furniture experience center in tandem with furniture design meetings. I really think this contributed to the overall cohesive aesthetic and success of the project.” Yoga Alliance’s new headquarters is now a testament to thoughtful design and flexibility, supporting the organization’s diverse needs and culture. The space enables employees to work and collaborate seamlessly while also creating a sanctuary for wellness practices like yoga. The final design successfully balances flexibility and variety while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that reflects Yoga Alliance’s brand. The new office supports a hybrid workforce by offering a dynamic mix of settings for individual work, collaboration, and community engagement. Employees benefit from an environment that fosters productivity and well-being, with furniture solutions that adapt to multiple uses. News + Insights Join Us in Celebrating Black History Month With Simone N. Espinet Simone N. Espinet, Business Development Manager in New York, urges the design community to honor Black History Month through mentorship and community engagement. Feb 5, 2025 Join us in celebrating Black History Month with Simone N. Espinet, Business Development Manager in New York. Raised in England and Trinidad and Tobago, Simone developed an early admiration for the stunning architecture surrounding her. Growing up in London, she was influenced by old-world architecture and was first inspired by Sir Christopher Wren's St. Paul's Cathedral. Plus, the Tower of London, Hampton Court, and the many other notable buildings and bridges in London. In Trinidad, she was fascinated by the gingerbread houses and the Magnificent Seven Mansions. The structures were designed in various architectural styles, including French Colonial, Scottish baronial, Indian Empire, and Moorish Mediterranean styles, often blended with Caribbean architecture. This passion deepened when she moved to New York at age 17, where she entered design School. Later in life, she was very influenced by the late Roger Turton, a trailblazing black architect who studied in England and later lived in Trinidad and Tobago, where he designed some astonishing homes. Her favorite architect is Zaha Hadid. Simone calls on the architecture and design community to honor Black History Month through mentorship and giving back. Her efforts include key roles in impactful events such as Henricksen's Celebrating Black History Month on February 11th, highlighting black architects and designers, and the New York Hip Hop Architecture Camp in August 2024, where high school students explored the intersection of hip hop and design. Simone believes that by sharing our knowledge, we can guide young people toward brighter futures. Mentoring and giving back to communities is her passion. As we move through Black History Month, let's take the time to educate ourselves, broaden our understanding, and celebrate the rich tapestry of Black history and culture.
