COFCO, A Henricksen Company, welcomes Joanna Verdi as the new VP of Sales for its Washington, DC office, bringing valuable insights and a proven track record for large-scale projects.

Jan 30, 2024

COFCO, A Henricksen Company (“COFCO”), is delighted to announce the appointment of Joanna Verdi as the new Vice President of Sales for its Washington, DC office. With her background in real estate, construction, and engineering, Joanna brings valuable insights and a proven track record for delivering quality-driven, large-scale projects to one of the nation’s leading contract furniture dealerships.

Joanna, who officially joined COFCO in November 2023, is set to lead the organization’s expansion efforts in the Washington DC metropolitan area. She expressed her excitement about the role, “In building upon its reputation in other regions, COFCO is poised to distinguish itself as the leading contract furniture dealership in the DC area by providing boutique-like client service experiences, delivering leading-edge product solutions, and nurturing relationships.”

Joanna joined COFCO from JLL, where she served as vice president and senior project manager. Prior to JLL, Joanna worked as a project manager for James G Davis Construction Group and as a civil engineering analyst for Jacobs Engineering. Joanna has demonstrated a keen understanding of the built environment in her nearly two-decade career, particularly in the GSA sector. She aims to capitalize on growth opportunities in other market segments such as healthcare, higher education, K12 education, and senior living.

Joan Waters, President of COFCO, said, “Joanna has a comprehensive understanding of all the parts and players involved in building strong teams and bringing quality projects to fruition. She is strategic, well-respected, enthusiastic, and prioritizes the client experience.” Waters added, “Her strengths lie in making meaningful connections while her engineering training is the platform for her pragmatic, logical, data-driven, and creative problem-solving. She is the ideal person to lead our team in Washington DC.”

A trained engineer, Joanna’s passion for the built environment began in her youth. She learned the fundamentals of design, construction, and project management from her father, a residential builder who owned a construction firm. Later, she earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Penn State University. In addition to her professional and academic accomplishments, Joanna has supported various charitable organizations, including her current involvement as a Board Member of Rebuilding Together DC Alexandria. She lives in northern Virginia with her husband and their three children.
