Henricksen Appoints Gosia Humes as General Manager of the Washington D.C. Office

Seasoned professional with three decades of experience will help expand the company’s influence in the region.

May 8, 2025

Henricksen, a leading national contract furniture dealer, is pleased to announce that Gosia Humes has joined the company as general manager of the Washington D.C. office. In this role, Humes will lead the regional team in developing client relationships and elevating the brand’s position in this crucial market.

“From the start, it was evident that her strategic vision and commitment to building relationships align perfectly with Henricksen’s culture,” said Joan Waters, Henricksen’s Divisional Manager, D.C. and PA. “In addition to her impressive background and knowledge of both the dealer and manufacturing sectors, her leadership approach is one that will foster success and collaboration throughout her time here.”

With over 30 years of experience in the furniture industry, Humes brings a wealth of expertise and insight that will contribute to Henricksen’s long-term business goals while supporting the Washington D.C. office. Before joining the Henricksen team, Humes served as the Senior Vice President at Price Modern. Prior to that, Humes was at burkeMICHAEL+ for six years, last serving as the Vice President of Workplace Strategy. Earlier in her career, Gosia led a successful furniture dealership, where she developed a servant-leader and customer-centric approach that helps focus on new business opportunities and creating long-term relationships; a strategy that will benefit Henricksen and its current and future partners.

“Trust, integrity, and character are tenets that have led me through my career, and I see those same values reflected in the team at Henricksen,” said Gosia Humes, General Manager of Henricksen, Washington, D.C. “I look forward to working closely with all of the teams in the D.C. office to develop a collaborative environment that will help strengthen our relationships and position us to better leverage our resources and those of partners. A great example is Allsteel—they have a Design Lab opening in D.C. later this year and l know the team is excited to start getting folks into the space.”

An active participant in ASID and IIDA, Humes has also served on the Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games on the logistics team for almost three years. In her spare time, she puts her servant leadership style to action, volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House, Light of Life Rescue Mission, and Satchels of Caring. She and her husband Carl have four adult children and expect their first grandchild this June.
