Henricksen is please to announce that Brenda Lemmer has joined the company as senior business development manager, A+D. Across a career spanning interior design, manufacturing, market development and entrepreneurship, Lemmer has built a reputation for connecting design vision with commercial priorities—and for investing in the relationships that move the work forward. In her new role, Lemmer will deepen Henricksen’s relationships throughout the Twin Cities architecture and design community.
"We are so pleased to welcome Brenda to Henricksen," said Debra Barnes, Principal + General Manager - MN, Henricksen. "Her career has been defined by a genuine commitment to the A&D community, where she has earned the trust of clients and colleagues through thoughtful solutions, meaningful insights, and authentic relationships. We look forward to the impact she will make for our team, our clients, and our community."
A graduate of the University of Minnesota’s interior design program, Lemmer began her career in HGA’s corporate interiors practice. She later spent 17 years at Knoll, first leading A+D market development across the Midwest and then representing KnollStudio throughout the region. In 2020, Lemmer founded COLLECTION, a Minneapolis-based representation firm connecting design partners with a considered portfolio of architectural walls, workplace furniture and textiles. Building COLLECTION sharpened her view of what leadership requires beyond vision: continual learning and clear boundaries.
Design education and mentorship have been a constant passion for Lemmer throughout her career. While at Knoll, she created an eight-month mentorship program that paired emerging designers with senior design leaders for a curriculum of education and networking sessions, a model later recognized nationally. A LEED Accredited Professional, she has also been a consistent advocate for sustainability and for specifying quality that lasts.
“We measure spaces by their aesthetics, performance and emotional impact. I’m equally interested in what the process asks of the people creating them,” Lemmer said. “Their expertise matters, and so do the demands on their time and energy. Good partnerships account for both.”
Lemmer's commitment to professional development and the design community runs throughout her career. She served seven years on the board of the IIDA Northland Chapter, including terms as president-elect, president, and past president, along with four years in public relations roles. Her collaborations don't end with projects—they ripple through careers and communities.
