Community-focused Frandsen Bank & Trust recognized the need to refresh its Rosemount branch to better reflect its brand and the customers it serves. The renovation aimed to elevate the customer and staff experience through interior updates that improved the look, feel, and functionality of the environment—an investment that demonstrated their long-term commitment to the Rosemount community.

“Our space was showing its age both in its look and function,” said Frandsen Bank & Trust South Metro President Brian Brakke. “The project drivers were to create a warm and inviting environment for clients and a workspace configuration to better support our team. In both cases, the goal was one of improving the bank experience.”

Due to relationships with both Frandsen Bank and the selected architectural firm, Mohagen Hansen, the Henricksen team was entrusted to support the design and construction process with furniture procurement and installation services.

Mohagen Hansen’s design refreshed the interior with a balance of modern and traditional elements, updating finishes to achieve the desired welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the bank’s evolving image. Furthermore, they reworked the floor plan to enhance client engagement and privacy while improving team communication and collaboration. The layout addressed the customer journey and relocated team members to support workflow, customer-facing functions, and future growth. Plan updates included enlarging offices, adding a conference room, and introducing flexible breakout areas.

Henricksen’s relationship-based model supported a collaborative process as furniture solutions were analyzed to support the design drivers. Live design sessions with the client and Mohagen Hansen allowed the team to visualize options and discuss key aesthetic and functional requirements for workstation typicals. The interactive process assisted consensus-building and effective decision-making. Team members were able to visually understand planning constraints, such as column locations, and the related financial considerations.

“Seeing samples and visual examples was very helpful in this process,” described Brakke. “Their ability to place the proposed furniture in the plan allowed us to have a much better sense of what the final space was going to look like.”

The selection of Allsteel Aspect Walls was a key element to the overall design; the product opened up the floor plan to address the desired approachability while balancing the need for privacy and transparency. The sleek black profiles frame the office walls to achieve a clean, professional, and modern aesthetic. Furthermore, the configuration provided clear sightlines that intuitively guide customers through the space to the teller line.

Likewise, visual access was maintained for the safety and security of the bank staff. To further enhance their work environment, Allsteel Approach L-shaped height-adjustable desk configurations were specified to prioritize ergonomics, flexibility, and positive customer interactions. A wood-look HPL provided a nice fit and finish, with each station designed to maximize storage.

Mohagen Hansen’s design complemented the modern details with a refined materials palette of greys, blues, and natural textures. Henricksen supported this aesthetic direction with additional furniture selections, such as Kimball lounge furniture in the entry lounge—a comfortable and cost-effective product that offers a beautiful, tailored look.

Translating the design vision to reality relied on exceptional project management as renovations were completed while keeping the bank fully operational. Transparent communication was imperative to keeping team members updated on progress and ensuring proper timing and coordination. Expectations were high at every step of the process, especially for the construction and installation of the signature design elements. From the art-glass feature wall to the intricate angles of the diamond-shaped conference room, craftsmanship and precision mattered. Extensive field verification was conducted to ensure accuracy before order entry, as the floating reveal of the Aspect Walls required a seamless installation.

“We really love this space. It is wonderfully comfortable and inviting,” said Brakke. “From the entry experience and custom glass behind the teller stations to the lighting, the design intent was translated perfectly. The combined team was easy to work with and professional while accomplishing the tight coordination and seamless execution in an active branch.”

From design through construction, this successful renovation reinforced the value of trusted partnerships. Each team member’s commitment to collaboration, communication, and attention to detail delivered a space the client loves, an environment that celebrates the Frandsen Bank & Trust brand and the Rosemount community.
