Before 2020, Expedition Credit Union operated a 5,000 sq. ft. branch in Woodbury, MN. After branch realignment left half the space unoccupied, they decided to sell the building and relocate to a smaller facility. Remarkably, the building was sold just days before the pandemic shutdown, prompting Expedition Credit Union to pause their plans and wait for the right moment to re-enter the market.

In 2023, recognizing continued demand from their strong member base in the area, they set out to establish a new, more efficient client-facing location in Woodbury. The new storefront was just 1,700 sq. ft. and needed to feel welcoming, modern, and aligned with the brand.

With six years having passed since their last build-out, Expedition Credit Union also sought updated furniture solutions that honored their existing design identity but reflected a fresh, contemporary feel. They needed a partner who could guide them through this transition seamlessly.

Henricksen, a trusted partner since 2014, led the furniture selection process for the new space with guidance from Firm Ground Architects & Designers. With deep familiarity with Expedition Credit Union’s brand identity and visual language, Henricksen provided curated options and coached the team through every step of the selection process.

A key goal of the project was to maintain glass-front private offices—an element consistent with previous locations—while thoughtfully integrating brand colors into the furniture selections. To achieve these goals, the project incorporated a curated selection of products, including Allsteel Approach height-adjustable desking, Gunlocke Briefing hospitality furniture, Kimball Hobson seating, Wixler occasional tables, HON Solve and Cofi seating, Decca custom height-adjustable teller stations, Encore Melina seating, and Allsteel Beyond architectural walls, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic excellence.Expedition Credit Union trusted Henricksen’s expertise to bring their updated branch to life with minimal friction and maximum impact.

The new Woodbury branch is a modern, right-sized space that supports member service while reflecting Expedition Credit Union’s core brand values. From planning through installation, Henricksen’s guidance helped simplify what could have been a complex process.
