Since 1937, this Illinois Title V Agency has been coordinating care for families and children with special care needs. The DSCC works with over 20,000 families across Illinois each year. Their mission “focuses on public service, education and research as a basis to provide, promote and coordinate family-centered, community-based, culturally competent care for eligible children with special health care needs in Illinois”.
DSCC was a tenant in the Teachers Retirement Fund Building. With the growth of these two government agencies it was inevitable it was time to find a new facility for their corporate headquarters. DSCC selected an existing site, which was a church, renovated the interior and exterior and applied many “Green” principles to the new facility.
Henricksen has furnished most of the DSCC offices throughout Illinois using IPHec or university contracts and during this process we partnered and developed space and furniture standards. The most recent being corporate headquarters which consists of 29 private offices, 41 open office workstations, reception station, 4 conference rooms, an IT department, a cafeteria, and a multi press print shop.
Henricksen assisted in color selection, and furniture specifications and provided electrical schematics, project management, and installation. In the words of our client: “Working with Henricksen & Company is always a positive and consistent experience regardless of the project. They are a company that projects professionalism and excellence in all facets, from the point of initial planning to the final installation and follow-up. Henricksen's attention to detail creates a holistic approach, which helped to make our office environment one of the finest. Consideration and planning was given to all product and finishes in the facility, which is visually apparent as you walk through the space. They are a truly a reliable and outstanding company.”
