The Raynor Library, located on the campus of Marquette University, is now an indispensable spot for the students and faculty. The Raynor Library was designed to be more than a building to house books - but as a place to promote collaborative learning and study groups. Technology was also a key factor into the design of the facility, in order to adapt to the constant changes in high-tech research. The library has a central information commons area, group study areas, high-tech classrooms, a coffee house, a writing center and more than 200 personal computer stations.
Henricksen provided furnishings and products that created a transitional look combined with the durability and functionality needed for student use. Along with housing books and periodicals, the space provides a mixture of comfortable seating areas and group study spaces, which were furnished with Keilhauer overstuffed chairs and custom wood tables. They wanted tables that were substantial and made of solid wood, rather than a wood veneer; so, Henricksen custom-built tables from a ship builder in northern Wisconsin.
Henricksen was honored to work with Marquette University on this project, and be a part of the new Raynor Library, an incredible addition to their already outstanding campus.
