TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN FALLS – This is where the sausage gets made.
Well, not quite. The bratwursts and other goodies that Johnsonville produce actually get made in a couple of buildings across the parking lot. But that’s just a stone’s throw away from where the local food behemoth’s corporate leaders, marketing personnel and other office employees sit.
And those cubicles are getting a bit roomier. A months-long building project that started in late 2016 and that aimed at expanding Johnsonville’s headquarters by a whopping nearly 49,000 square feet is just about finished.
“This was all sort of farmland before,” Michael Stayer-Suprick, president of Johnsonville’s international business units and whose family has owned the sausage-making company since 1945, said as he led a reporter through a portion of the newly built addition.
