Henricksen hosts Joe Martere, Vice President of Healthcare Strategic Accounts at Tandus|Centiva, for a new CEU session on applying an Evidence-Based Design approach to flooring specification.
Evidence-Based Design (EBD) can assist architects, designers, and other specifiers in making better, more informed decisions about flooring for healthcare facilities. As a past member of The Center for Health Design’s Research Coalition and industry expert for its comprehensive healthcare flooring checklist Achieving EBD Goals through Flooring Selection & Design, Joe will share the most important selection criteria a specifier should consider when evaluating different flooring materials.
- Explore the principles of EBD, how they are applied to flooring selection, and their link to patient, staff, and visitor satisfaction.
- Discuss design considerations, as well as strengths and weaknesses of different flooring materials in satisfying selection criteria.
- Review and understand flooring implications in healthcare environments and effects on acoustic performance, ergonomics, slip/fall incidents, roller mobility, glare, indoor air quality, as well as maintenance and installation issues.
- Provide specifiers with the knowledge and tools to make more thorough evaluations.
